In the app.

Reading fonts

Choose Standard, Lexend, Atkinson Hyperlegible or OpenDyslexic. Your choice applies across the whole app.

Text size

Four sizes, from standard up to 150%. The app also follows your phone's own text size, up to 1.6 times.

Contrast and colour

A higher contrast option makes text darker and borders stronger. Choose from 17 colours. Where colour carries meaning, such as symptom severity, a number or word is shown beside it.

Larger tap targets

Every button and field becomes at least 56 points tall, so it is easier to hit.

Less movement, less blur

Reduce motion turns off drag animations and pop-up fades. Reduce transparency swaps see-through panels for solid ones.

Listen

Tap Listen on many screens to hear them read aloud, using your phone's own voice. Nothing is sent anywhere to do this.

Screen readers

Buttons and controls are labelled for VoiceOver and TalkBack, with roles and hints, so they can be used without seeing the screen.

Eight languages

English, Malti, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Русский and Eesti.

Calm by design

No streaks. Habits are never scored. Prompts are only suggestions, and you can skip or change anything.

On this website.

The same choices as the app, in one place.

  • Choose colour, text size, reading font, higher contrast and larger tap targets from the Aa button at the top of every page, or try them on the home page. Your choices are saved on your device only.
  • Under “More ways to read”: line spacing, letter spacing, underlined links, a reading guide that follows you down the page, a pause for movement, and Listen, which reads the page out loud in your device’s own voice. Nothing is sent anywhere to do this.
  • Everything can be used with a keyboard, the focus is always visible, and there is a skip link to the main content.
  • Text wraps and fits at the largest sizes. We test every page at the largest text size with OpenDyslexic, higher contrast and larger tap targets all switched on.
  • Photos and screenshots have descriptions for screen readers.
  • Videos start only when you press Watch, apart from one quiet loop at the top of the home page, which has its own pause button. Nothing moves if your device is set to reduce motion, or if you choose Pause movement.
  • Links that open in a new tab say so, and every page has the same simple layout, with one main area, a skip link and clear headings.
  • The site uses no tracking cookies and no analytics.

Still improving.

Plainly, so you know where we are.

  • We have not had a formal external accessibility audit yet. We test ourselves and with early testers.
  • There is no dedicated colour-blind mode yet.
  • Some translations have not yet been reviewed by professional translators.
  • Listen uses the voices already on your device. If your device has none installed, the Listen button does not appear.
  • We are still testing with more devices and assistive technology.

How we checked.

Before launch we checked the app's text and button colours against WCAG contrast ratios and darkened any that fell short. On this website we ran an automated checker on every page in all 17 colours, at the largest text size with every reading option on, and in higher contrast, and fixed what it found. Automated checks only catch part of what can go wrong, so we also test by hand. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We do not claim full conformance, and we will say so here as that changes.
