What postpartum recovery is like
Recovery after birth takes longer than most people are told. Bleeding, pain, tiredness, mood and feeding all change from day to day. The Veda Circle counts the weeks from the day of the birth, or the day your pregnancy ended.
Why a record helps
A daily record of how you are really feeling, and not just how things look from the outside, is one of the most useful things you can bring to a midwife, health visitor or GP. Mood changes after birth are common. They range from the ordinary baby blues to something that needs real support, such as postnatal depression or anxiety.
What you can record in The Veda Circle
- How your body feels today
- Your mood, and your own words when you want to add them
- How much you slept over the last day
- Anything else you want to remember, such as questions for your midwife
- Recovery guides by stage, from the first days to the first year, and a place for health visitor and feeding support
Taking it to your appointment
The report is built from your own entries for the dates you choose. Share it, print it or save it as a PDF, so your midwife, health visitor or GP can see how you have really been.
When to get help
Some things need help the same day: heavy bleeding that soaks a pad in an hour, a fever, a painful swollen calf, chest pain or breathlessness, a severe headache or changes in vision. If you ever feel unsafe, or have thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, contact your midwife, GP or a crisis line straight away. It does not need to wait for an appointment. If you are in danger or need urgent help, call your local emergency number: 112 in Malta and across the EU, or 999 in the UK.
